Job Description: 
The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest is filling the target position of Forestry Technician (Recreation). This career ladder, GS-0462 5/6/7 position on the Medford-Park Falls Ranger District is based in Park Falls, Wisconsin. This position serves as the lead recreation technician on the Park Falls land base. As the lead recreation technician, this position works directly with the Park Falls recreation staff including 1 seasonal employee, volunteers and SCSEP crews communicating project and maintenance priorities with the District Recreation Program Manager. The position coordinates the planning and administration of a mixed program of developed campgrounds, dispersed camping sites, boat landings, trail heads, motorized, ski, horse, and other non motorized trail systems, National Historic Register structures, recreation and other special uses. This administration includes serving as a collection officer, forest protection officer, crew leader and assists in data collection and input for the INFRA trails and developed recreation management systems. This position involves frequent partnerships and coordination with user groups and other program areas. The Medford-Park Falls District is looking for an individual who will personally contribute diverse and integrated perspectives, and leadership within the District’s program.
