Job Description:

The U.S. Geological Survey’s (USGS) Upper Midwest Water Science Center (UMid WSC) is pleased to announce we are seeking applicants for 1-2 Hydrologist positions to join the Aquatic Contaminants Team. The Hydrologist(s) will work with an innovative team of scientists on studies related to the occurrence, distribution, and ecological and human-health effects of organic, inorganic, and microbiological contaminants in the environment. The team conducts studies at local, regional, national, and international scales in environments that have been disturbed by urban and agricultural activities. We evaluate adverse effects on aquatic ecological systems using data-driven analysis, laboratory-based bioassay testing, and in-situ organism exposures. We use traditional approaches in addition to development of open-source software packages to analyze data for putting contaminant data into biological context for use in decision-making processes.

If you have a passion for working with an innovative team of scientists, investigating effects of contaminants on aquatic communities, and developing novel software packages to put environmental data into context, then this job is for you.
