Job Description: 
Supervises department employees which involves such duties as instructing, assigning and reviewing work, maintaining standards, acting on employee problems, selecting new employees, appraising employee performance, recommending promotions, discipline, termination and salary increases. Supervises, plans, and coordinates activities in the After School Program division including supervising assigned staff of part-time employees. Supervises, plans, and coordinates activities in the Summer Day Camp division including supervising assigned staff of part-time employees. Supervises contracted employees and programs in the Fitness/ Instructional division. Hires and screens part-time staff in assigned divisions. Counsels and provides corrective action for part-time staff. Plans assigned annual special events. Trains and provides continued education to part-time staff in assigned divisions. Develops and maintains annual budget for assigned divisions. Performs observations to ensure compliance with rules. Creates literature to market programs and services in assigned divisions. Researches new trends in Recreation and Programming divisions. Recruits volunteers for departmental special events. Meets with community representatives to plan departmental special events. Serves on regional festival committees. Serves on Fireworks Show Committee. Prepares reports documenting revenue and participation. Collects program fees; reviews daily deposits. Answers telephone and provides customer service to customers. Conducts staff meetings. Receives and/or reviews various records and reports such as incident reports, weekly financial reports, timesheets, employee evaluations, and programming schedules. Prepares and/or processes a variety of documentation such as monthly reports, financial statements from events, program evaluation reports, daily bank deposits, and requisitions. Will assist Executive Director on other job tasks as assigned.
Qualifications: 
Requires a Bachelor's degree in leisure services, parks, recreation and tourism management,sports and exercise science, or related field supplemented by three to five years of responsible experience in recreation programming, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess or be willing to obtain cardio pulmonary resuscitation, and First Aid certifications. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
