Working in close collaboration with Urban and Community Forestry Program Development Section: Direct assigned resources and personnel to achieve program and agency objectives consistant with agency Urban and Community Forestry State Action Plan. Effectivley manage fiscal/ budgeting, reporting, and other responsibilities as assigned. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners. Provide direct supervision to assigned UCF program staff to promote a teamwork approach needed to execute goals, objectives, and strategies of the state urban and community forestry program, and other special projects as assigned. This position will ensure that all administrative procedures pertaining to hiring, employment, and termiation are adhered to within all assigned program areas. This position shall also assume the duties and responsibilities of the Regional Urban Forestry position in UCF Region 8 - Hill County.
Qualifications:
B.S. in Forestry from an SAF-accredited university; or, Bachelor's degree in related field plus Master's degree in forestry and ISA Arborist Certification. Position requires strong working knowledge and proficienncy with standard GIS/GPS applications including spatial and ortho-imagery analysis.
Minimum five years experience in delivery of TFS programs, or equivalent with ten or more years experience in urban forestry or arboriculture program delivery is preferred. Candidate must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, exercise sound judgment, and a demonsrated ability to perform assigned duties with a high degree of professionalism, organzation and attention to detail.
