Description:Initial appointment is 70% research, 30% teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded and nationally recognized research program employing qualitative and quantitative methods that lead to a better understanding of the formulation and functioning of forestry/natural resource policy-making processes in a time of changing socioeconomic and environmental conditions. Issues of relevance include policy aspects of conservation, management, and stewardship of both public and private forests and related natural resources. Indications of a successful research program include extramual funding, publication in appropriate peer-reviewed outlets, and recruitment and training of graduate students. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop undergraduate course work in forestry and natural resource policy, and a graduate course in the candidate’s area of interest.
Departmental support will be provided in a collaborative research and teaching environment.

Qualifications: Ph.D. with specialization in Forestry/Natural Resources policy. At least one degree in forestry or natural resources preferred
Misc: The Department of Forestry is one of 11 academic units within the College of Agriculture. Departmental activities include undergraduate instruction in forestry and natural resources, graduate instruction in forestry, and research and extension programs in a wide variety of areas. Intra- and interdepartmental collaboration is encouraged. The department maintains a 10,000 acre forest that is an important asset for teaching, research, and extension programs.
