Description:Responsibilities:
Teaching and research in forest operations/forest engineering
-- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in forest operations/forest
engineering such as timber harvesting and timber procurement.
-- Establish a nationally-recognized research program emphasizing forest
operations/engineering; example areas of possible emphasis include
operations, timber harvesting, safety, transportation and logistics. The
person appointed will be expected to attract and mentor graduate
students, to acquire extramural research funding, and to publish
research results in refereed research journals.
-- Participate in university governance and outreach activities.
Location: Blacksburg
Qualifications: Qualifications: Ph.D. with an emphasis in forest operations or forest engineering required; B.S. degree in forestry highly preferred. Also desired: Expertise and current interests in harvesting and business aspects of forest resource management and operational forestry experience.
