Description:A graduate research assistant position (M.S. level) is available beginning Summer or Fall 2008 with Dr. David Kittredge in the Department of Natural Resource Conservation, University of Massachusetts-Amherst. This assistantship is part of a project studying private woodland owners, their use of the internet, and how they make decisions about the future of their land. The successful candidate will be involved with the maintenance, marketing, and monitoring of several web sites, as well as assessing landowner attitudes and behaviors through surveys and focus groups

Location: Amherst

Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to graduate studies, demonstrate an interest in learning new approaches to monitoring and maintaining a presence on the internet, and a desire to study and understand private woodland owners and their relationship to their land. Applicants must be self-motivated. Experience in Photoshop, content management systems (e.g., Joomla, WordPress), Dreamweaver, statistics, GIS, and Google AdWords is desirable.
