Description:Several research assistantships are available at the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences, Auburn University. The selected student(s) will be working on the impacts of urban development and land use/cover changes on hydrology as well as water quality of forested ecosystems. Auburn University campus is conveniently located off Interstate 85, and is only about 50 minutes by car from the city of Montgomery (capital of Alabama) and about 1.5 hour from Atlanta. Auburn University is consistently listed among the top 50 public universities for the past 15 years and the Forestry program is in top 10 in research and publications.

Qualifications: Requirements: Prospective candidates should be highly motivated and preferably have a background in the physical aspects of hydrology, especially watershed hydrology and water quality. The research involves extensive modeling and model simulations; consequently a background in modeling is desired but not necessary. Knowledge and experience in computer programming is also favored. Some of the projects involve site visits and data collection.
