TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Completion of a master’s of science degree in fisheries management, fisheries biology, fisheries science or a closely related field.

NOTES:

1. Preference will be given to applicants with experience sampling fish using nets

and\or electrofishing equipment.

2. Preference will be given to applicants with computer software experience (e.g., MS Word, Excel, Access and GroupWise).

3. Preference will be given to current DNR’s employees.

WILDLIFE TECHNICIAN II LOCATION:

McDuffie County

PAY GRADE SALARY MINIMUM

14 $2,701.53 Monthly

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Completion of coursework equivalent to an associate's degree in wildlife management or a closely related field.

OR

Two years of experience in the Wildlife Resources Division as a Wildlife Technician I, which included responsibilities in game or non-game management.

NOTES:

1. Preference will be given to applicants with a background\experience in wildlife management\nuisance abatement experience.

2. This position has been designated as a Class I Deputy Conservation Ranger; therefore, applicants must be at least twenty-one years of age and meet all requirements for

certification as a peace officer by the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training

Council.

3. MEDICAL STANDARDS-VISON: minimum vision corrected to 20\40 with glasses or corrective lenses and at least 20\60 in both eyes without correction, Peripheral vision of at least 70 degrees in each eye.

4. The selected candidate may be required to pass a pre-employment drug-screening test before final offer of the position.

5. The selected candidate must be willing to relocate to within 30 miles of the site location within 30 days of accepting employment.

The following position shall be filled at either the Fisheries Technician II or Fisheries Technician III level, depending upon the selected candidate’s education and experience.
