Description:Georgia EIC Model Schools Coordinator, Georgia DNR Environmental Protection Division

DUTIES:
Under general supervision, coordinates Georgia's “Using the Environment as an Integrating Context (EIC) for Learning” school improvement initiative; provides support to classroom teachers, school administrators, community organization representatives and statewide environmental education providers in their use of the EIC Model; conducts researches and analyzes and interprets information and data pertaining to solid waste management issues; assists in preparing complex reports; writes and edits publications, newsletters and other informational material for internal and external communication; prepares material for presentation; plans, develops, conducts and evaluates training and technical assistance in areas of specialty, and assists with internal waste reduction program and special projects as needed. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: I: Completion of an undergraduate degree in education, marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, a natural or physical science or a closely related field from a four year college or university AND two years of professional experience in the development administration and\or implementation of an environmental education\outreach program(s). II: Completion of an undergraduate degree in education, marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, a natural or physical science or a closely related field from a four year college or university AND three years of professional experience in the development administration and\or implementation of an environmental education/outreach program(s). NOTES: 1. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the design, development, and\or implementation of programs for K-12 grade administrators and\or teachers. 2. Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge\experience with current trends, laws, and policies\programs concerning public education and environmental protection. 3. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the development of outreach materials. 4. Preference will be given to applicants with contract oversight experience.
