Job Description: This is a full-time permanent position. The Naturalist position duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
-Guide guests on Island tours and conduct other environmental education and recreational activities.
-Tours include history tours, beachcombing, fishing, botany tours, kayaking, nature hikes, birding, island ecology tours, wildlife viewing, etc.
-Maintain department supplies such as binoculars, fishing tackle, kayaks.
-Assist with environmental projects such as the sea turtle program, bird monitoring, deer herd management, prescribed burns, and wetland management.
-Assist in hosting guests at nightly cocktails including cooking and hosting oyster roasts, crab boils, etc. Usually 1-1.5 hours 2 times a week.

Location: Little St. Simons Island
Qualifications: Qualifications: B.S. in Biology or related field. Must have ability to work with a wide range of different people and staff on remote island setting. The successful applicant needs to be skilled in many fields of natural history including: bird and plant identification, coastal ecosystems, fish, reptiles, mammals, etc. Must be willing to endure hot and buggy conditions during part of the year. The position requires that the successful applicant live on the island. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate spouses/ children due to a limited amount of housing. No dogs are allowed on the island.
