Position: Research Technician III

Description: To participate in investigations of the ecology of disease agents and parasites in wildlife in relation to wildlife, domestic animal, and public health, and participate in disease control and management programs. This person will assist in the development of protocols for field investigations and be responsible for logistical arrangements for field studies, capture and or collection of wildlife, acquisition of biomedical specimens and ecological data, supportive lab work, office work, and records. Establish working relations with state/federal agencies and private landowners, and at times supervise field teams. Extensive travel should be expected and may include any region of the United States and foreign countries. Unusual work hours also should be expected. Assist with preparation of grant proposals, reports, and manuscripts.

Applicants should have a degree in wildlife management or related field with some field experience working with free-ranging mammals and birds.

Salary: Base pay is $24,277/year
Location: Athens, Georgia

Availability: This position will be available beginning April 2008.
