Description of duties: The incumbent serves as the Waterfowl Management Program Coordinator in planning, administering, coordinating, and directing the development and implementation of a statewide, waterfowl management program. The incumbent serves as the Fish and wildlife Conservation Commission's principal representative and contact for all waterfowl related matters. The incumbent is responsible for identifying and pursuing opportunities to achieve objectives in the Waterfowl Management Strategic Plan and to achieve goals, policies, strategies, and objectives in the Agency Strategic Plan, particularly as they relate to waterfowl and waterfowl habitat. This includes promoting and enhancing waterfowl management and waterfowl hunting and viewing opportunities on private and public lands; identifying technical and lay information needs relative to waterfowl management and facilitating the meeting of those needs; providing recommendations on policies and practices for management of waterfowl and waterfowl habitat and for regulation of waterfowl hunting; and coordinating the efforts and activities of private, state, and federal agencies and organizations involving waterfowl management, research, and public education.
