National Marine Fisheries Service is dedicated to stewardship of our
nation's living marine resources and habitat through scientific
research, management and enforcement. NMFS provides effective
stewardship to benefit the nation through domestic and international
programs supporting coastal communities that depend upon the
resources, while providing safe and healthy seafood to consumers and
recreational opportunities.

This position is located in the National Marine fisheries Service,
Alaska Fisheries Science Center, National Marine Mammal Laboratory
in Seattle, Washington.

The person filling this position will prepare for and assist with
aerial surveys for beluga whales, manage photographic and video
data, analyse photographs and video for beluga whale abundance.

Band ZP/2 is the equivalent of GS 07 through 10.

Qualifications: KEY REQUIREMENTS: Applications will only be accepted from United States citizens. Relocation expenses are not authorized. May be required to work in sites with extreme inclement weather. Travel to remote duty stations for up to 30 days per year. Aerial surveys in small aircraft over the ocean north of Alaska.
