Description:Forest Investment Associates (FIA) is seeking to hire an individual for an open Portfolio Analyst
(PA) position. The PA is an entry-level position and will perform forestry and investment
analysis and provide decision support for FIA’s Portfolio Management Team. The position will
be based out of FIA’s headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
-Assist Portfolio Managers with harvest scheduling and cash flow modeling
-Assist Regional Investment Foresters and Operation Managers with silvicultural analysis
-Compile, review and summarize appraisal, harvest schedule and inventory data
-Compile data for and produce the Portfolio Management Team Annual Report
-Conduct discounted cash flow analysis at the property and portfolio levels
-Calculate historic and projected internal rates of return
-Conduct analyses to determine whether tracts should be held or sold
-Assist in valuation, marketing and contracting of disposition (land sale) activities
-Provide analysis on timber pricing and timber sale results
-Develop custom spreadsheets and other analysis and tracking tools
-Perform research on special projects as assigned

Qualifications: SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED -Bachelor’s degree in forestry or finance (advanced degree strongly preferred but not required) -Thorough working knowledge of principles of timberland investments and finance -Excellent oral and written communication skills -High level of skill in technical and statistical analysis of forestry and investments -Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, & mapping software (ArcGIS) PERSONAL TRAITS REQUIRED -Strong sense of ethics and integrity in business and timberland management. -Self starter with the ability to problem solve and think creatively. -Ability to achieve objectives with limited supervision, to function as a member of a team and to make decisions both independently and with input from others. -Well-organized, detail-oriented and accurate.
